On Wednesday April 23rd, we had a citywide meeting in the Chase Tower downtown. We had a Pei Wei buffet, cookies, and great conversations. We discussed the PragerZona websites, our organizational structure and plans, listened to a few minutes of Prager on the radio, and finished up by venturing off on the Fair Tax and Election topics.

Thank you to all that came!

25 minute recording on organizational portion of meeting
I don't believe anyone took minutes, so this is the best I could do...

-- Passage Read At Closing --

In 1787, a Scottish history professor, Alexander Tyler, had this to say about "The fall of the Athenian Republic."

"A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse (generous gifts) from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that the democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy - which is always followed by a dictatorship.

These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to courage, from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence, from dependence back into bondage."
